The Zandvoort steward documents undercut the claim that Franco Colapinto was singled out.

On lap one, after Max Verstappen's crash brought out double waved yellow flags, Colapinto overtook Yuki Tsunoda in the yellow sector before the line. Arvid Lindblad overtook Pierre Gasly in the same sector on the same lap. Both received a drive-through penalty and two penalty points.

The stewards used near-identical wording in both decisions: "Normally such infringement requires a 10-second stop/go penalty, but the Stewards acknowledge the complications caused by the significant amount of debris on track at this point and take this into account as mitigating circumstances."

Lindblad is British. Colapinto is Argentine. Same offence, same mitigation, same penalty.

Colapinto also received a separate 10-second penalty and a penalty point for failing to slow under a single yellow at Turn 3, which the stewards described as "on the lower end of the available scale." Liam Lawson received the same 10 seconds in the same yellow period.
